Contents Rutgers sends a courier with an urgent letter to Gustav II Adolf, to which he refers AO for information. [Christian IV had threatened to take action if the Swedes were allowed to strengthen Gothenburg, and the Dutch had proved understanding.] - James I is reported to have consented to war, and Parliament will appropriate money when war is declared. - Louis XIII is in Picardy. The Dutch ambassadors have arrived and will be received in audience when Aubéry du Maurier [the French ambassador in The Hague] arrives. - Christian IV has send an agent, Dr. Cornelius Vinck, to The Hague. Rutgers wishes he had some thousand thalers to play with and that he could write in code. - Captain Laer has offered his services again.
