13th century. Textualis Libraria. Several hands. - Large decorated initials at the beginning of each prologue or biblical book (painted in blue and red). Red and blue painted initials with branches at the beginning of each chapter (alternatively red initial with blue branches and blue initial with red branches). Red and blue numbers of chapters. Red and blue running titles. Rubrics. Lots of indication for the rubricator, sometimes made with lead point (f. ex. f. 405), sometimes with ink (f. ex. f. 244v-245). - 41 quires of 12 leaves, except quire nr 2 (15 leaves, f. 13-27; 1 leaf missing between f. 22 and 23), nr 4 (13 leaves, f. 40-52; f. 41 added later on stub), nr 7 (11 leaves, f. 77-87; 1 leaf missing between f. 84 and 85), nr 11 (15 leaves, f. 124-138; 1 leaf missing between f. 129 and 130), nr 12 (16 leaves, f. 139-154), nr 13 (15 leaves, f. 155-169; 1 leaf missing between f. 155 and 156), nr 14 and 15 (16 leaves, f. 170-185 and 186-201), nr 16 (15 leaves, f. 202-216; f. 208 added on stub), nr 17 (16 leaves, f. 217-232), nr 21 (11 leaves, f. 269-279; 1 leaf missing between f. 269 and 270), nr 22 (11 leaves, f. 280-290; 1 leaf missing between f. 287 and 288), nr 29 (10 leaves, f. 363-372; 2 leaves missing between f. 362 and 363), nr 30 (18 leaves, f. 273-390), 31 (10 leaves, f. 391-400), nr 32 (13 leaves, f. 401-413; 1 leaf missing between f. 400 and 401), nr 33 (3 leaves, f. 414-416; 1 leaf missing between f. 416 and 417), nr 37 (10 leaves, f. 453-462; 2 leaves missing between f. 454 and 455 and f. 460 and 461), nr 38 (14 leaves, f. 463-474) and nr 41 (11 leaves, f. 499-509; 1 leaf missing between f. 507 and 508). Signatures on f. 27v, 39v, 64v, 99v, 111v, 123v, 154v, 185v, 216v, 232v, 244v, 256v, 268v, 279v, 290v, 302v, 314v, 326v, 338v, 350v, 372v, 390v, 428v, 440v, 486v, 498v (type: " · II9 · "); additional signatures on f. 170-177 (from "a" to "h" on the upper right corner of the first 8 leaves) and on f. 303-308 (small circles on the bottom right corner of the first 6 leaves). F. 508-509v are blank. F. 221, 508 and 509 mutilated. - Several glosses on the margins by a later hand (end of the 14th century). On f. 508: "AC M CC IV"; on f. 509: "Fo. C M M". On the last pastedown, indications of the locations of several prayers in the Bible (15th century). Remnants of place markers (green buttons, cf. f. 241 or 366). - Probably from Parisian origin. Cf. First owned by the monastery of Alvastra (on f. 506v: "Liber Sancte Marie de Alvastro ordinis Cisterciensis", 13th century hand). On the last pastedown, by a 16th century hand: "Dingtunensis" who refers to Dingtuna (near Västerås). Owned successively in the 17th century by Catharina Bååt (dead 1698) who gave it in 1651 to Anders Lilliehöök (1635-1685) (on the last pastedown: "Liber Andreae Lilliehoek, ex dono generosissimae consanguinae Catharinae Bååth, Södreby IV Augusti anno Salutis humanae 1651"). Then, in the Skokloster library (on the first pastedown: "Skoklosters bibliothek. / Detta dyrbara manuscript är till sitt innehåll en latinsk Bibel både gamla och nya Testamentet. / Det är efter att [sic] utseende mycket gammalt; på sista bladet står: Anno Christi MCCIV. / Boken synes hafva tillhördt Alvastra kloster, ty på en sida mot slutet står annoteradt: Liber Sanctae Mariae de Alvastro ordinis Cisterciensis. / Alvastra kloster anlades omkring år 1140 af konung Sverker och fick namn efter hans gemål Alvilda. Det blef först bebodt af några benedikiner-munkar [sic] men år 1150 blef det utvidgadt och förbättradt och upplåtet åt Cistercienser orden. / Denna bok har i sednare tider tillhördt en Herr Andreas Liljehök som fått den till skänks af sin cousine Catharina Bååth den 4 augusti 1651. / (Signed:) Annoteradt år 1826 af Anders Lindgren vice-pastor i Skokloster"). - Old finding number: 49 (on the back of the manuscript).

Parchment. Lead point ruling, traces of prick-holes. 509 ff. Written on 2 colums. 135 x 185 mm (justif. 75 x 120 mm). - Old binding. Red sheepskin on wooden boards. Two brass clasps (the strap of the upper clasp is missing).
