Contents In his letter to Gustav II Adolf, Spens has made clear what he had achieved in the King’s service. He will carry out the new instructions he has got and then set out for Sweden. – According to a letter from Gordon, James I’s representative in Poland in commercial affairs, Sigismund III has summoned the Parliament to a meeting for next February to deal with the Turkish War and the threat from the Tartars. The Prince of Poland is close to Moscow with a force of 30,000 Cossacks, but is pressed by famine and will probably not be able to hold out for long. Ambassadors have been sent to Constantinople for peace negotiations. Weiher is expected to come to London as ambassador.
