ArkivhistorikWillard August Brolin was born in Rockford, Illinois 1865. Died in 1949. Attended school in Rockford. After Highschool he went to Browns Business College (nightschool). Had a job as a molderat A.C. Thompson Foundry and as a clerk at the Railroad office before joining the Skandia Furniture Company as scretary-treasurer. Stayd in that position until approx. 1921.
Brolin was associated with a number of businesses either as main stockholder, president or director, such as:
Scandia Furniture CO., Secretary-Treasurer, stockholder.
Rockford Furniture CO., President, main stockholder. Org. by Brolin 1915.
Winnebago Furniture CO., President, stockholder.
Rockford Desk CO., President, stockholder.

He purchased a farm in 1928. Another year and the Depression was a reality. Lost everything. orked at National Lock as a clerk for a year or two. Helped out in a grocery store 1940-1942. Started a vegetable garden in 1935 and continued with that until 1949.
The following papers reflect some of his business dealings, especially with the Sundstrand Adding Machine and its division U.S. Adding Machine Company in New York, NY.
