Allmän anmärkningSkoklostersamlingen E : 9074. - Ps.-Augustinus. - Hymni. - Officium Visitationis Marie. - Honorius Augustodunensis. - Notae diversae de missa. - Mirabilia urbis Romae.

Manuscript previously described in Paul Lehmann, "Skandinavische Reisefrüchte (neue Folge)", in Nordisk tidskrift för bok- och biblioteksväsen, vol. 23, 1936, p. 17-18 and in Monica Hedlund, Katalog der datierten Handschriften in lateinischer Schrift vor 1600 in Schweden, vol. II, part 1, p. 24-25.

F. 1-19. [PS.-]AUGUSTINUS HIPPONENSIS EP., Manuale (only until chap. 24): "Manuale sancti Augustini episcopi. Quoniam in medio laqueorum... - ...choros Virginum speculando. Et sic de singulibus actibus sancte exercitacionis." Patrologia latina, vol. 40, col. 951-962. - F. 19-26v. [PS.-BERNARDUS CLARAEVALLENSIS ABB., De interiori domo] (only from chapter 38): "De contemplacione. O anima mea si vis amari... - ...divine contemplacionis actibus. Deo gracias." Patrologia latina, vol. 184, col. 546-552. These two works were sometimes combined in that way and regarded as being the [Ps.-]Augustine Manuale (for further examples, cf. Mitteralterliche Handschriften der Universitätsbibliothek Uppsala: Katalog über die C-Sammlung, vol. III, p. 292-297 [C 287] and A Catalogue of Books Printed in the Fifteenth Century Now in the Bodleian Library, 2005, p. 330 [A-582]).
F. 27-28v. [Hymni]. [Horae Crucis] (f. 27-27v); - "Hore canonice de doloribus Marie Virginis" (f. 28-28v).
F. 29-43. [Officium Visitationis Marie]: "In festo Visitacionis beate Marie virginis. Ad vesperas. Super psalmos, antifona: Benedictum nomen Domini... - ...salvemur jugiter. Amen. Conpletum in vigilia Nativitatis Johannis Baptiste anno Domini Mo CCCCo XLVIo per A. de V. p. in Pynstorp. Deo gracias." This officium is written according to the dispositions taken by the Basel council in 1441 (see dom Bernard Capelle, "Les fêtes mariales", in Aimé-Georges Martimort, L´Église en prière, Paris, 1961, p. 755); cf. on f. 30v : "Ex decreto sacrosancti consilii Basiliensis…".
F. 43v-55v. [HONORIUS AUGUSTODUNENSIS], Gemma anime sive de divinis officiis (extracts from lib. I): "…(the first word missing because of the cutting of the leaf) super officio misse intitulatum Gemma anime. Officium dicitur quasi efficium... - ...et levitas in ministerium". Patrologia latina, vol. 172, col. 543-581. The parts are in this order: liv. I, chap. 91-112 (f. 43-52; beginning of chap. 91 missing), chap. 1-6 (f. 52-54; end of chap. 6 missing), chap. 11-12 (f. 54-55; end of chap. 12 missing), chap. 17-18 (f. 55-55v; beginning of chap. 17 and end of chap. 18 missing).
F. 55v-68. [Notae diversae de missa] (end missing): "Super officio matutinali. Primo post duos pulsos... - ... chorus cantat offertorium etc. Nomen".
F. 71-142v. [Mirabilia urbis Romae]: "In illo opusculo dicitur... - ...est ecclesia fratrum minorum. Finis." Ed. Roberto Valentini and Giuseppe Zucchetti, Codice topografico della città di Roma, III, 1946, p. 17-65. The text in the manuscript has been copied from an incunable, Mirabilia Romae vel potius Historia et descriptio urbis Romae, Rome: Stephan Plannck (cf. http://www.gesamtkatalogderwiegendrucke.de/docs/M23566.htm): the text, the typographical signs and the page setting are exactly the same. Cf. Paul Lehmann, "Skandinavische Reisefrüchte (neue Folge)", in Nordisk tidskrift för bok- och biblioteksväsen, vol. 23, 1936, p. 18 and Nine Robijntje Miedema, Die "Mirabilia Romae" : Untersuchungen zu ihrer Überlieferung mit Edition der deutschen und niederländischen Texte, 1996, p. 82.

15th century, probably begun shortly before 1446 and completed shortly after 1489. A note at the end of the Officium Visitationis Marie (f. 43) says "Conpletum in vigilia Nativitatis Johannis Baptiste [i. e. June 23rd] anno Domini Mo CCCCo XLVIo per A. de V. p. (for presbiterum ?) in Pynstorp [today Pingsdorf, a part of Brühl, 20 km south of Cologne]. Dei gracias". Since it is at least the second hand in the manuscript, it is highly possible that it was begun earlier (but rather shortly before, as the writing suggests). On the other hand, the Mirabilia urbis Rome at the end of the manuscript was copied from an incunable printed in 1489; the writing also suggests that it must has been copied quite shortly after this date. Cursiva currens. 5 hands: f. 1-28v, f. 29-43, f. 43v-49v, f. 50-68 and f. 71-142v. - Rubricated initials at the beginning of some chapters or parts of each work except between fol. 48 and 68. Rubricated frames (f. ex. f. 1). Rubrics (only until f. 28v). - 13 quires of 10 leaves, except quires nr 3 (8 leaves, f. 21-28), nr 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (12 leaves, f. 70-129) and nr 13 (14 leaves, f. 130-143). Signatures only for the last 6 quires (f. 70-143), some of them invisible after the cutting of the leaves: a1-6, b1-6, c1-6, d1-6, e1-6, f1-7, each of them rubricated at the bottom right corner of the verso of the pages. Catchwords (f. 81v, 89v, 93v). F. 68v-70v, 71v and 143-143v are blank. Modern foliation on every 10th fol. but, because of a count mistake, there are only 8 leaves between f. 30 and 40. - Few notes on the margins (15th-16th century). - German origin. On the first flyleaf: "Pertinet conventui fratrum Sancte Crucis in Colonia" (15th-16th century). Cf. Joseph Theele, "Aus der Bibliothek des Kölner Kreuzbrüderklosters", in Mittelalterliche Handschriften: Festgabe zum 60. Geburtstag von Hermann Degering, 1926, p. 253-263 and Gottfried Amberg, "Die Verbrüderung "Patientis Christi" oder Kreuzbrüderschaft in Köln", in Jahrbuch des Kölnischen Geschichtsvereins, vol. 46, 1975, p. 73-100. On the first pastedown: "Kiöpt av på auctionen i Stockholm den 11 november 1740 för d. 4,16 kopparmyntt. (Signed:) C. G. Bielke". An engraved ex-libris with the coats of arms of C. G. Bielke is glued beneath. - Old finding number: 14 (on the back of the manuscript).

Paper. Ink ruling. 142 ff, preceded and followed by 1 paper flyleaf. 100 x 140 mm (justif. 70 x 105 mm). - Old binding (probably 15th-16th century). Brown calf on wooden boards. Blindstamped covering on each cover: fillets framing 4 panel portraying Madonna and Child with a cross. Brass clasp.
